The Tuesday Night project is a weekly social event held at the Square Centre, it began on the 27th of January 2009 with a night dedicated to music, radio and food. Ran by local refugees and members of STAR, the Tuesday Night project aims to provide a space for social intergration, whether this come in the form of monthly film nights, friendly board game playing, educational support or in the making of a Refugee Radio Show for Riseup Radio. As well as providing support and encouragement for refugee-led initiatives in the city of Nottingham. It begins at 5pm and goes on until 10pm, a meal is cooked and served by voluteers, and eaten by us all.
UPDATE!
The Tuesday Night Project has kicked off to a great start with new faces. We need to focus more on getting refugee numbers up and encouraging a female refugee presence which was somewhat lacking this week. Any ideas folks…? Please post.
